5) Grand Bassin Lake
The lake is situated in a hidden mountain area, deep in the heart of Mauritius. This lake is with a Hindu temple and it is a holy place for Mauritians of Hindu faith. The lake rests in the crater of an inactive volcano. The Lord Shiva statue – Mangal Mahadev, the highest known statue of Mauritius and is one of the 50 highest statues in the world.
6) The village of Gris- Gris
The village of Gris-Gris is a scenic place found at the Southern tip of Mauritius. The high cliffs of this village fall abruptly to the sea and the refreshing winds of the Indian Ocean blow all year round, gives a panoramic view for the visitor. It is near to the southeast village of Souillac- a historical village that dates back to the French colonial period. There is a small garden on one of the many benches, and from the garden, a path leads to a small beach where you can enjoy the close view of the sea.
